If last week was about the ladies, then this week is about the fellas.
Nick Mulvey is finally back with a new album and tour. I’ve always loved his records for their understated brilliance – cool, chill, poignant and melodic.
We also have albums from FKJ, George Ezra, and Michael Rault, and new music from John McEntire & Sam Prekop, of The Sea and Cake and Tortoise fame, Belle and Sebastian and Of Monsters and Men.
Excited for the debut from Olan, new electronic releases from The Range and Mark Barrott and Hello Meteor.
Round it out with a reimagined seminal 90’s electronic/trance album from Chicane, and the next installment from the excellent GarciaLive series.
Last Week’s Distilled Gems:
Poliça and Angel Olsen delivered great albums, and new singles from San Holo, Phoenix, Lord Huron, Maggie Rgers, and boerd were all great. Horsegirl broke out with a solid 1990’s feeling indie rock record, which I was ready for. Lettuce, TTB and Bob Marley are all worthwhile listens if you like them.
